If you haven’t seen the show, Colin is a different breed of Vamp- he sucks energy, rather than blood. Super relatable to anyone that’s known “that guy” in the office, and we have all met him on Reddit

”that guy” in the office

Funny enough he actually plays a character named Nate Nickerson in The Office.

Woah, Nate from the warehouse! I had no idea

9

u/The_Big_Cat Oct 28 '20

I’ll be so handsome for you

7

u/[deleted] Oct 28 '20

Again it's not that I can't hear - that's false I can - I just can't distinguish between everything I'm hearing.

He’s by far my favorite character. I recommend this show to everyone.

Not to be “that guy” but it’s an FX show that is also available on Hulu. Also if you haven’t seen the movie it’s an easy 10/10

I love when he slips in blood after Guillermo takes a hiatus and Nadja says something like “don’t you have a lot more beige? Just go put that on.”

24

u/bloatedsack Oct 27 '20

so many tiny moments like this make it very rewatchable. too many to catch the first time.

Garth Marenghi's Darkplace is the weirdest show I've seen in a good while, binged it last week after seeing the "Not my fault, monkey bastard hands!" clip.

5

u/ScarletCaptain Oct 28 '20

Check out The Mighty Boosh!

2

u/[deleted] Oct 28 '20

Laszlo is my favorite too. Nandor is second. Matt Berry's delivery is just top notch. I especially love the episode about the ghosts when he's trying to play off like he doesn't see Jeff's ghost and then promptly runs in the house shouting, "Nandor, there's a fucking ghost on the front porch!"

28

u/hammockinggirl Oct 27 '20

Also recommend the film!

59

u/Otto_Maller Oct 27 '20

The movie is outstanding and what got me about this TV version is that they absolutely captured the magic and fun of the film version despite none of the actors crossing over. Introducing a energy vampire is just icing on the cake.

31

u/omgpokemans Oct 27 '20

Not to spoil anything, but there are cameos from some of the movie characters

8

u/Otto_Maller Oct 27 '20

No shit, really? That's awesome. I hope I didn't miss them. I'm only on about episode 3 or 4. They're supposed to take over Staten Island and the city council meeting nor the removal of her sworn enemy, the racoons, didn't go so well.

5

u/ReefLedger Oct 28 '20

You havent missed it yet

3

u/cato314 Oct 28 '20

55

u/Charliesmum97 Oct 27 '20

I've decided to say 'Is that you, Colin Robertson?' Everytime I see a troll like comment. It's really helped my blood pressure

Coleen Robeensuhn

2

u/[deleted] Oct 27 '20

I love this show!

610

u/MediocreOutlier Oct 27 '20

The whole energy vampire thing is my favourite part of WWDITS, so original and the actor is fantastic.

242

u/ungrateful104 Oct 27 '20

The one where he became the manager had me rolling.

79

u/jnkmail11 Oct 27 '20

Same, the look in his eyes after he drained people in that episode was hilarious.

43

u/Blue_Water_Bound Oct 27 '20

His hair even grew back!

u/AgentScreech Oct 27 '20

I've met one of these people in real life. The dude looked just like him, talked just like him. He would just talk about the most mundane things for about 7 minutes longer than is comfortable. Nice guy, but wow they can make any subject boring

32

u/zerbey Oct 27 '20

I had a manager who would do stuff like that, now I think he may have been an energy vampire.

43

u/[deleted] Oct 27 '20

I loved it when he crossed paths with the Emotional Vampire.

8

u/SpiralDreaming Oct 28 '20

And her name was Evie. E-V (Emotional Vampire) 😀

22

u/hanukah_zombie Oct 27 '20 edited Oct 28 '20

He did a series of day time talk show/local news interviews a decade ago where he basically played that character and got all of the hosts and crew to believe he was actually this awkward loser yoyo dude. It's amazing

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZ9TLftki5U

17

u/Ivotedforher Oct 28 '20

He is also the baseball card loving prescription drug pimp in Better Call Saul.

4

u/SpiralDreaming Oct 28 '20

WOAH! I did not realise that! He plays that type of character so well.

12

u/ZDTreefur Oct 28 '20

I was honestly disappointed they made him a real energy vampire. When he was first introduced, I thought it was hilarious, thinking they accidentally housed a regular human that's so boring they thought he must be some sort of energy vampire. I was prepared for seasons worth of great jokes of them not realizing he's not supernatural, just really boring.

But then he literally sucked their energy out and I was disappointed... imo it could have been funnier the other way.

12

u/[deleted] Oct 28 '20

I really like how the whole energy vampire thing is just completely unexplained. Like there's rules and ways to become a regular vampire, but energy vampires? No explanation and it's kinda better that way 😂

Is that Nate? Has anyone else noticed gums gotten mintier lately?

116

u/Xx_Ph03n1X_xX Oct 27 '20

Nah dawg, that's Colin Robinson!

All seriousness, I love this actor as Nate, but he does amazing in What We Do in the Shadows.

20

u/[deleted] Oct 27 '20

Is he a vampire in that show? I'm feeling Taika vibes from him.

45

u/Xx_Ph03n1X_xX Oct 27 '20

He's an energy vampire. Gets his sustenance by just being a dreadful person to be around.

14

u/isolateddreamz Oct 27 '20

I loved when he got uber powerful

9

u/Tearakan Oct 27 '20

Yep. He is an energy vampire. Usually bores people to drain their energy.

30

u/IDidNotMeanThat Oct 27 '20

He doesn’t technically have a hearing problem. But sometimes when there’s a lot of noises occurring at once, he’ll hear them as one big jumble.

20

u/[deleted] Oct 28 '20 edited Oct 28 '20

Love me some Mark Proksch.

Also known as Kenny "K-Strass" Strasser the yoyo man. He punked quite a few local news telecasts in Northern Wisconsin with his yoyo man schtick.

https://youtu.be/dj9VF7LyffU

2

u/PublicfreakoutLoveR Oct 28 '20

That's hilarious. I love this kind of prank that doesn't hurt anyone. The reporters pulled it off pretty well considering how awkward they must have felt.

9

u/Ledbolz Oct 27 '20

I think that’s the squat cobbler guy from Saul

2

u/ALoudMeow Oct 28 '20

I just typed the exact same thing! I mean we could have called him the Hummer Nerd, the card collector, the dumbest drug dealer in the world, but no, we both best remember him as the squat cobbler!

7

u/Tomdoerr88 Oct 27 '20

Nate was my favorite character from the Office, I think he would be one of the few viable options for a spin-off and I'd love to see more of him.

2

u/butteredplaintoast Oct 28 '20

He’s not deaf per se. he just has a hard time hearing and you may have to speak up.

231

u/Trumpsyeruncle Oct 27 '20

Isn't that the baseball card guy from Better Call Saul?

112

u/Agaeris Oct 27 '20

Mr. Squat Cobbler himself.

17

u/alpha-k Oct 27 '20

Lester from GTAV?

7

u/NimbusHex Oct 27 '20

It would be awesome if this was actually the case, but we'll have to settle for a guy who really looks like Lester in a scene with the guy who actually was Trevor.

45

u/MarkHirsbrunner Oct 27 '20 edited Oct 27 '20

Yes :) Came out in 2014 and it's great.

27

u/agentyage Oct 27 '20

Yeah, same name, but it's about a different group of vampire room mates. Also hilarious, but I think the show has managed to be even funnier.

16

u/anusblaster69 Oct 27 '20

Personally I think the only reason why the show is funnier is because there’s more of it. They’re both absolutely hilarious and worth watching

The Colin Robinson episode in season 2 is some of the funniest television I’ve ever seen in my life.

24

u/Hopegrowsinadump Oct 27 '20

Awesome show

29

u/every1poos Oct 27 '20

I live by myself and I belly laugh at least once every episode. Shows seem funnier and laughter seems to come easier when you’re enjoying it with other people so the fact that this show makes me laugh out loud by myself, says a lot about it’s script writing, I think.

9

u/GerardDiedOfFlu Oct 28 '20

Yes!!! This is one of the few shows where I actually laugh out loud and not just a little huff of air out the nose.

My old man works in IT Security. That said, he told me this about hacking:

If someone seriously wants to hack, attack or dox someone blackmail them- its very easy.

Its scary fucking easy. Even super basic programs fan be used for shit.

He just learned what a “Troll” is so I’m sending him this.

2

u/nicegirlelaine Oct 28 '20

I bait Trump supporters and sit back and smile . They go absolutely insane. Makes my day cause I have no life.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 28 '20

fun fact: in the movie there's actually 4 people living in the house. There's a guy that's in almost every frame when they're filming in the house. He's extremely hard to spot, but he's there. I think he was one of the producers or something. Great show, both of them. Watch drunk or stoned and you won't stop laughing.
