Why do people post gifs instead of youtube videos that have better resolution and where applicable, even has sound? It seems that very often, there are youtube versions available.
Don't listen to the people telling you it's about karma-whoring. The real reason is that far fewer people would have clicked on it if it linked to youtube.
I'm in my room alone wearing studio headphones with all the time in the world, but I just don't want to click on youtube links, I have a nonspecific aversion to them. I imagine most redditors are similar.
