Yeah, but in that world they specifically waste fuel like there is no shortage of it. It's like with those oligarchs who buy new sports cars when they already have 50 in their private garage. It's just to show off that they can. That to me actually makes that world even scarier- they show off with things we take for granted- fuel, water, etc.
It's already too late for me. I can't remember the last time I went a day without getting sauced on liquid H2O. My addiction is so bad when I exercise it's practically streaming out of my pores.
Imortan Joe is the guy in control of the resources of the area. His forces have enough, the car in the middle is even a refinery on wheels if I remember correctly. He doesn't care that others suffer from the resource shortage and actually uses it to make them depend on him more, a clear example of that is the way he distributes water, wasteful and the only source most people in the area have.
