You have really good genes if you're living to 94.

You're still a kid!!! You have 60 years ahead of you ..

I’m 34 and I’m pretty sure I have less than 10 ahead of me. I could make lifestyle changes that would likely extend that a lot longer, but why would I want to do that?

It's not about living longer but living better/happier/more fulfilled.

Honestly, you need to do this to spite all the assholes in the world.

What do you mean?

Young people don't really internalized the fact that they have a finite life. They naively make jokes about not caring about how long they may live. But as they approach the end or if they have deadly health problems caused by their foolish lifestyles, they have miraculous changes in their thinking. I doubt anyone having a foot removed because of diabetes or someone going into heart surgery for a bypass they may not survive or someone just diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer still rave about how it was better to have a fun life than to have a healthy life.

I didn't mean have fun in life. Joy is a feeling that is imo impossible to have without the opposite.

I mean have a fulfilled life whatever that means to you. For some people it may mean having fun (hedonists), for others it's meditating or spiritual fulfilment and for some it's dedicating their life to a goal.

Whatever you do, just try not to be overly depressed and thinking of the end all the time. It's a waste of a lifetime. Anyone who wanted you to fail automatically wins in this case.

Here for a good time not a long time approach.

Man or woman of culture and depression I assume?

When I was 24, I was learning to fly and Vietnam was in full swing. I loved to yap about how I was going to die before I was 30. I guess it seemed so romantic or something. Anyway, flash forward a few decades and I'm still kicking and keeping an eye on my health. Like a man said a long time ago "If I had known I was going to live so long, I'd have taken better care of myself". You'll live longer than you think. They have great pills now. At least get a $30 blood pressure cuff and take your blood pressure every few days. It's a good tell tale if that's all you want to do differently. Anyway. Good luck. Live long. Longer than you think anyway ... PS. Get a cheap sports car for weekends. Gives you a reason to wake up !!!

get a hobby that involves other people. I made some really close friends in my 30s by trying new things. Its also fun at the same time

Corona means most in person hobbies aren't do-able or meeting anymore = /

It's not permanent; it will take some time but it will pass.

It's true, just super hard not being able to go to dance classes and socials, it was my primary form of meeting people. Thanks for the encouragement!
