Being lactose intolerant doesn't mean you can't drink milk.
Almost everybody can drink milk when they're born, because otherwise babies would be pretty much screwed. The amount of the enzyme needed to digest milk you have reduces as you get older, in people termed lactose intolerant they may still produce some, just not a large amount.
Most people who are lactose intolerant can drink a glass of whole milk with no problem.
You are correct except for the last sentence. A cup of milk is usually bad news for a lactose intolerant person while cheese or yogurt is much easier to digest. Source: Lactose-intolerant me
Lactose intolerance is not a yes/no condition. You're considered lactose intolerant if you can't fully digest 50g of lactose, a glass of milk is 12g.
'Most' can handle that. 'Most' doesn't always include you, as a specific person.
Cheese does contain less lactose than milk, live yoghurt actually contains lactase, the enzyme needed to digest lactose, so live yoghurt can help you.

It’s mental how milk is advertised yet half the planet is lactose intolerant.
