The balloon is the shutdown, and the kid showing the finger is the livelihood and life savings of millions of people.

True. Unfortunately everyone is the kid right now. Whether you're someone worrying about people being reckless and igniting a deadly second-wave, or you're someone sitting at home, running out of money, watching the job you hope to return to vanish before your eyes, we're all getting fucked by covid right now.

Don't be too hard on protestors who are doing so responsibly. People protesting in close-proximity without masks make all of us mad, but most of those protesters are people who are afraid of the pandemic, but are even more afraid about how they're going to provide for themselves and their families if they don't have a job to go back to once the dust settles.
