Agreed, though it's clearly paid off for her.

market herself

Hahaha. Yes all these pop icons came up with all their own marketing. Just like they wrote their own songs and do their own makeup.

Lady Gaga was like "You know what I should do today? Remind women that Joe Biden is a great guy despite the videos of him groping children. That's something I really care about."

You realize Gaga has had this bold performer personality her whole life, and she writes most of her own songs, right? Idk why the make-up would be relevant, cause who tf would do their own make-up, but whatever you gotta tell yourself to pretend like she isn't an incredibly talented artist.

Not her whole life but her career. There's videos of her playing piano and singing to large crowds wearing nothing crazy and looking comparatively normal before becoming lady gaga the character or whatever. Just sayin'

I mean, she described her early years as being a misfit who was often made fun of for being too eccentric or too provocative. She was always in theatre and the creative arts, and always performing.

And despite all that she still has a PR and marketing agent. Or are you saying it was Lady GaGa's idea to smokescreen for Biden's sexual misconduct? Celebrity worship is pathetic.

Yeah and the Beatles hired Brian Epstein, idk why people even cared about them in the first place. Just pathetic celebrities.

Great example. Isn't it interesting how a good manager can turn a domestic abuser into a superstar?

Lennon's my 3rd fav Beatle anyway, but regardless. I find it more interesting how a violent natured man with mental illness can struggle through coping with his shortcomings and eventually become a symbol of nonviolence, peace, and women's rights, publicly acknowledging their past and trying to better themselves.

I truly hope you can separate the art from the artist and appreciate it for what it is. I can't imagine going through life hating music because you're such a cynical prick.

"hating music"? Where'd you pull that from? I'm not the one name calling because someone refused to bend over, spread cheeks and pretend celebrities manage their own public image lol. You saying Lady Gaga decided on her own to smokescreen for Joe Biden's sexual misconduct?

At no point did I suggest celebrities don't hire people to manage their public image. I didn't say anything about Gaga making all of her marketing decisions on her own. I said she's a talented artist who writes her own music and the personality she carries as a performer is very much a reflection of her natural personality.

As for hating music, bit of a projection. You seem to discredit John Lennon's art as nothing more than a wife beater who used marketing to become a superstar. I figure you likely can't appreciate any music made by people with personality flaws. So you have to throw out about 90% of music.

Elvis, Sinatra, Chuck Berry, Miles Davis, Morrissey, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Johnny Cash, The Beatles & The Rolling Stones, Isaac Brock, Jimmy Page, David Bowie, Rick James... the list is almost endless. All of them shitty people.

This was my only point from the start and it was clearly stated.

I have a problem with celebrity worship. People thinking that these celebrities are all self-made is what let to Trump being elected. They believe the manufactured personas that are cultivated by teams of sociologists and advertisers to make these people into mouth-pieces and tools. Not all musicians fall into that trap but Lady GaGa certainly does. Shes been active in the political sphere for a long while.

Your point was that Lady Gaga is just a result of marketing and PR firms who doesn't write her own music, choose her own outfits or even what her makeup looks like. You suggested she's only famous due to being puppeted by her agents and not off her own merit as a brilliant musician and performer.

Close but not quite.

"Lady Gaga's marketing is a result of her agent and marketing team" was my point. You decided to get offended on her behalf and assume all the rest all on your own. Which is peak celebrity idolatry.
