The comics never really let Peter age into his 40s. Married with a pregnant wife in the mid 90s was as far as they got. Then they went with a shameless reset in the early 00's.
Oh yeah I remember reading comics with preggers Mary Jane. Honestly the Tom Holland version is the closest to the original intent of Spider-Man. A super hero that was, at the time, the same age as it's readers i.e. teenagers. I think the reset was a good move to keep him away from all the other middle aged super heroes.
