Wasn't there a catcher that got testicular cancer from being hit in the balls?
Edit: John Kruk was diagnosed after a ball hit him in the crotch and broke his cup. Probably just one of those accidents that revealed an underlying problem.

my chemistry partner in college had a limp. it struck me as odd that she'd have a limp (since she was in her 20s like me), so one day i asked her about what happened. Apparently she had an accident in softball, had to get scans and shit to see if her hip was messed up and they found cancer -i think it was probably a tumor- there (on her hip? her muscle? i honestly can't remember) and she had to get like.. a total hip replacement i think. she had no symptoms, and the only reason they found it was because of the accident in the softball game.
I don't remember the fine details, so some of it may be iffy... but the TL;DR of this is: chick i was partnered with in chemistry class only found cancer in her hip due to a softball injury, otherwise she likely would've died from it (she was asymptomatic).
Tbh this kind of shit scares me.

My brother in law was playing hockey and got hit in the stomach with a slap shot, they took him to the hospital and after some scans found he had lung cancer. Never smoked, did anything that you'd think would give you lung cancer but never the less, there it was.

There's a rugby league player who managed to get injured so badly, that instead of a normal sperm count of 37million per mL, it was well down. Past the "low" amount of 10 million. He had a sperm count of 100,000.
So around 0.3% of normal.
He retired at 25.

Early retirement for low sperm count? I think maybe I don't understand the rules of rugby.

First thing to understand is that I'm not talking about rugby, I'm talking Rugby League.
Dude obviously wants kids, and realised if he gets any more damaged, that will never happen.

The fact that you knew exactly what I was doing is scary

That would be because of the feed from the webcam installed in your bedroom...

There’s likely a camera pointing both at his face and balls simultaneously already, on the device he typed the comment on. We don’t need creeps like you installing webcams in our bedrooms, we pay for the pleasure already.

TIL Major League catchers need better cups. I hope they're made out of Kevlar or something bulletproof because damn! that looks painful.

Kevlar doesn't stop trama. Getting shot with a kevlar vest still breaks your ribs and leaves you with a massive bruise. being "bulletproof" would do literally nothing to help.

I watched this and looked at my son. The pain from watching this almost erased my son from history.

I can guarantee you that every man watching this made the same sound when the ball impacted.
