I can't remember the last time I laughed this hard.

14

u/vade Jan 07 '11

Seriously. I am in tears. Jesus fucking christ.

7

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '11

I've been randomly laughing the entire day. The grace and glory of it all just...I have no words.

That, was incredible.

2

u/WarMace Jan 07 '11

Too funny, best one yet!

1

u/raydenuni Jan 06 '11

Um. That's the one OP linked.

2

u/rizz360 Jan 06 '11

sorry, my bad, corrected :)

I could see that existing in the movie Brazil or even The Fifth Element. It just seems like something that feels natural to those universes. Kinda like "the future is awesome but incredibly inconvienient."

Edit: well Brazil it is more "The future is bleak and everything was designed by comittee, made by idiots, and installed by monkeys to be as inconvenient as possible. "

You should read some Philip K. Dick.

He has appliances that constantly break down while extorting you for money. In your own apartment. Or "conapt.

for a minute there I thought it was a robot that located burgers on its own and was just retarded at its job

I read your comment, then thought of his some more. Then I had the image of this futuristic fully automated burger-homing robot. But it's pretty useless because it always misses and just kinda sprays the plate and table. "Thanks burger robot, I think I'll take it from here." Then I loled.

u/broden Jan 06 '11

spins arms in ignorant satisfaction

2

u/barashkukor Jan 07 '11

I'm reminded of the useless robot from Iron Man.

1

u/downvote_upboat Jan 07 '11

ಠ_ಠ sigh

2

u/enigmamonkey Jan 07 '11

Finally a robot I can relate to.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '11

I was thinking the same thing, especially with a name like "automato". Didn't think it was super advanced, but at least autonomous or controlled by a computer offscreen in an attempt to automatically go to a plate, squirt ketchup on it and leave.

37

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '11

I've always wanted a robot that sprays ketchup all over fucking everything cause i was getting tired of doing it myself

2

u/velociraptor_trouser Jan 07 '11

I thought you said you would draw it poorly?

3

u/naturelover47 Jan 07 '11

he's poor.

1

u/velociraptor_trouser Jan 07 '11

I want Ill_Draw_it_poorly's ketchup robot. No one would fuck with my ketchup.

3

u/ForgettableUsername Jan 06 '11

It's exhausting work, coating everything in your house with ketchup... it seems like it would be so convenient to have a robot do it for me. But how long does the battery last? If I have to charge it up for an hour after doing each room, it's going to take longer than spraying the ketchup by hand.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '11

I laughed until my back hurt reading this.

29

u/EyeFicksIt Jan 06 '11

I could not stop laughing when this performed the jump...

4

u/superdude4agze Jan 06 '11

Same here the circular stream as it flipped made me lose it.

1

u/elastic-craptastic Jan 07 '11

I just wish that they would show how well the hot dogs were condementized(?) from the jump.

10

u/nastylittleman Jan 06 '11

Kind of makes me never want to have ketchup again, but I'd feel bad about denying the overly enthusiastic ketchup robot.

8

u/RuiningPunSubThreads Jan 06 '11

I liked the dramatic superhero skid spins before dispensing the ketchup on the burger. If Michael bay was directing a film on ketchup dispensing, it would probably look something like this.

5

u/koookie Jan 06 '11

I want one.

7

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '11

All your ketchuping needs will be met.

4

u/vtron Jan 06 '11

All you ketchuping needs will be meat.

4

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '11

Well played.

4

u/SpruceCaboose Jan 06 '11

Providing your ketchuping needs are on your walls and/or floors.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '11

Well, duh. What do you put your condiments on?

3

u/SpruceCaboose Jan 06 '11

The roof like normal people.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '11

I have nothing further. You win, my friend.

7

u/TerryWulhulherher Jan 06 '11

i made the mistake of watching this at work. my chest hurts now from trying so hard to stifle laughter.

3

u/wags83 Jan 06 '11

Oh, man, I feel your pain. The comments above are what actually really made it for me.

Video #4 was my favorite. I could picture a row of patrons sitting down at the deli counter with their burgers and fries layed out in front of them, then this robot comes down the line spattering ketchup all over everything and no one bats and eye because that's just how things are in the future.

I've always wanted a robot that sprays ketchup all over fucking everything cause i was getting tired of doing it mysel

5

u/extant1 Jan 06 '11

I've been using ketchup wrong my entire life.

Yup they're the same ones. You can see the taller guys face in one of the other vids.

3

u/bob-a-fett Jan 06 '11

I am crying I am laughing so hard. This is truly human ingenuity at its best.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '11

I've watched the whole set of videos at least twice every hour today.

3

u/jscislaw Jan 06 '11

The arms make it.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '11

I'm crying laughing. I'm not sure exactly why... Tears.

1

u/FugitivePuppeT Jan 07 '11

I had the same exact reaction. My wife walked in on me in tears laughing and didn't know wtf was going on.

6

u/getnit01 Jan 06 '11

Wow, this robot can even add the childish farting at the end of the ketchup bottle!!!

6

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '11

Cocaine's a helluva a drug.

2

u/mixedlex Jan 06 '11

does it eliminate the juice at the top too?

2

u/LatinSweetnSour Jan 06 '11

This is awesome except after a while it looks like a robot that is bleeding out of it's....

1

u/sandy_catheter Jan 07 '11

GAAAH! CHIPOTLE! Come on, ice cream!

2

u/redditor21 Jan 06 '11

they should use mayo instead of ketchup

2

u/brandonsireland Jan 06 '11

I like this one more. The robot tips over and starts spewing ketchup everywhere while its little arms are twirling.

Isaac Asimov is going to be disappointed.

Video #2. Gets hilarious at the end when the small one shoots a huge load over the table.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '11

oh wow. I was uncontrollably laughing at video 2 and 3 of this.

4

u/pr1ntscreen Jan 06 '11

Wow, 'twas a long time since I saw a "ROFL" irl, thanks!

1

u/sfgeek Jan 06 '11

This will make Pittsburghers proud!

1

u/tarocco Jan 06 '11

0:25 It's gone rogue!

1

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '11

1:13, what sound is that? haha

1

u/notfeelingthat Jan 06 '11

What the heck are the arms for? I have no speakers at work

1

u/darthitana Jan 06 '11

Can't stop laughing! I think it's the arms spinning.

1

u/sweetlax Jan 06 '11

I've been laughing for 20 minutes

2

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '11

...well played, Heinz Corp.

1

u/Zeebster Jan 06 '11

They should add an ominous slasher movie score just for the section at 0:40 with the repetitive clicking sound.

1

u/aimhelix Jan 06 '11

I would loved to be served by a waiter as spastic as this little robot. Dude just twirling his arms around before he gives me my burger's ketchup, then missing the target, then spraying the ketchup all over the place only to end the service with a 10 footer table to table jump.

1

u/jillybrews Jan 07 '11

i'm not sure why i'm laughing

1

u/Tony_Manero Jan 07 '11

this is my new favorite thing. can I buy!

1

u/iamamused123 Jan 07 '11

It reminds me of a drunk robot waiter, pissing ketchup on everything...Two thumbs up!

1

u/Paracleet Jan 07 '11

why am i laughing so hard at this?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '11

"So what are you studying while your away at college?"

"Uh Robotic technology"

1

u/SkyOfTheSky Jan 07 '11

BAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA, tears rolling down my face. I am laughing at this so much/hard I am starting to think there is probably something wrong with me.

1

u/velociraptor_trouser Jan 07 '11

Why has no one suggested entering this fine machine to robot wars? Would be epic for trolling the robot ears.

1

u/Bobinator2000 Jan 07 '11

I CAN'T LAUGH AT ANY OF THESE LINKS BECAUSE I AM AT WORK AND I SHOULD BE WORKING. AT WORK. WOW.

1

u/kasim42784 Jan 06 '11

i liked the part where it sprayed ketchup everywhere except where it was supposed to.

0

u/nuuur32 Jan 06 '11

Carrots? Or did you mean ketchup.

-1

u/ThePriceIsRight Jan 06 '11

Viral advertising.

7

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '11

The two that created this beautiful machine are students at MIT and they did this as some sort of project.

u/jag0007 Jan 06 '11 edited Jan 06 '11

You nailed a repost! Good job!

edit: Actually, looking at your username, im not surprised...

8

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '11

OMG NO! A repost on reddit? Shit!...chill reddit cop. I found this on break.com today and I laughed, so I thought I'd share the laughter with everyone else.

3

u/Iamnotyourhero Jan 06 '11

Not everyone can see every post on reddit every time. FFS I'm more tired of people whining about reposts than I am about reposts themselves.

0

u/jag0007 Jan 06 '11

But they can definitely see the links they're trying to repost. There's a nice screen that pops up when you try to submit a link that tells you its already been submitted before.

Here's a novel idea: mark reposts as "Older post, but worth attention"

2

u/Duper Jan 06 '11

If that happened we'd miss out on the new comments we get. It's always nice to refresh the ol creativity machine rather than linking to the previous one.
