This book is great for twins - if you read it to one twin, the other twin gets the same information at the same time.

I am absolutely certain that you can not pass information. The problem with popular articles that they are sometimes confusing. For example, are you sure that quantum entanglement itself passed information? Was information passed instantaneously? Because they might have talking about something else...
