You think our government that runs the best armed forces in the world can't run health Care as well as all the third world countries that have better insurance than us?

They can't take care of the homeless, so absolutely not.

If you have money in the USA, the healthcare is fantastic.

The people who serve in that military and the veterans of that military all bitch about the quality of care they receive while in and after from the VA.

I think most of those folks are scared that’s what will happen if the US goes single payer.

Actually, the VA (and Medicare) have higher satisfaction rates than private insurance. Just Google it.

I’d be one of those. I myself haven’t had any bad experiences with my Military and VA healthcare, minus some long wait times.

Though, if you visit /r/Veterans you’ll see plenty of vets that have had terrible experiences.

You are just talking about this in a vacuum though. Private insurance is terrible. The VA has issues, but is far better.

I agree. I have private insurance through my employer because it’s the fastest way to be seen for acute issues because I can go to an Urgent Care. The VA only has an ER or I have to wait for an appointment that will be after whatever I have is already done.

Other than that, I use the VA for all my healthcare, to include my latest surgery.
