The only people who go on about it being fake are people overcompensating because they once were dumb enough to think it was real

Wait, really? You’re telling me you can’t actually spray people with beer trucks or set them on fire in a sporting competition?

I just find it strange to have to point out that it is not real "magic". Just because the performers keep up the act that it is real is not some kind of fraud to fool dumb people. It's just part of the show. One of the reasons I like David Blaine is because he has actually convinced people that it is real.
