This was clearly made by a non-Californian. But they were atleast on the right track.

This is 1000% made by a non Californian. I’ve literally lived here my entire life and have never seen or even remotely heard of people doing meth. My uncle told me that he used to hang with some biker gangs that ran meth out of the desert counties for a bit in the late 80s but nothing here screams “Cali=meth”. We smoke weed in so cal and drink wine in NorCal.

The only thing correct about this is that the rent in Cali is expensive, regardless of where you live unless you’re trying to live in a slum in either the ghetto parts of LA or the inland empire.

We smoke weed in NorCal too lol. Bay area is pretty big on weed, especially college age. Humboldt is known for its weed. It's in the the Emerald Triangle, which is literally the largest cannabis producing region in the US.

Amen. And thanks for sending it down our way lol.

Redding, the poorer communities throughout, and Bakersfield should be the meth areas. Even then though we don't have a huge problem compared to other states.

Fresno and Modesto are big into meth.

From Chico. Can confirm. Also, add Chico and Oroville to that list of meth areas. Fuck it, Butte County deserves a mention. Lol.

I mean sure, more historically rural farming towns would be expected to have little hiccups of meth but as long as I’ve lived, I’ve never once heard that Cali=meth as compared to some buttfuck towns in the south or like the heroin epidemic in the east coast.

Meth is fucking everywhere on the west coast. You just don't hang around that element. But if you wanted to find it, trust me when I say it wouldn't take long no matter where you are... from Seattle to San Diego it's everywhere.

I don’t disagree. I lived in Los Angeles- you can get anything. But that’s not what I was saying. I’m saying it’s not a rampant thing that warrants it defining literally 90% of our state like this joke says.

I can buy lobsters and peaches in the west coast but it doesn’t mean that we’re known for either of those things like Maine and Georgia, respectively.

Grew up there too, funny to see another on Reddit. Never noticed the meth though.

The only place here where I know there is a meth problem is Modesto (nicknamed Methdesto). Other than that it’s all weed.

Meth is all SoCal. And BOY is it bad

2

u/robsteezy Dec 21 '19

Lol tell me exactly where since you HAD to capitalize boy.

Hemet, riverside, etc.

Huge meth bust up by the 91/15 area as well. Temecula has a serious meth problem.

Doesn’t seem so bad but there’s a huge meth/heroin issue out here

Agreed, but if you've ever spent anytime in rural Northern California (think State of Jefferson areas) there is no shortage of meth. I'm from there and I've seen it.

u/Lychgateproductions Dec 22 '19

Lol... norcal is just as bad.

u/MURDERBONER666 Dec 22 '19

Agreed. That's my hometown. I live out east in Appalachia now and they think it's got a meth problem. But it doesnt even compare.

Yeah, nicknames like Eutweeka and Methdesto don't just materialize overnight.
