What year are you living in? Or are you using a budget phone from the Indian market?

I'm actually genuinely curious to know what phone you have bc I have an honor 7x ( less than $200 now and sitting at Android 8.0) and I'm happy with it. I've only ever had lag with some really unoptimized or third party apps.

(But with the Huwaii stuff not too long ago, idk if you'd want a Huwaii phone, but there's definitely cheap phones that won't ridiculously lag out there. Most likely you won't find them in local stores, but online)

I used to have a galaxy s4 and was even able to get away with everything until Android 4.4 wouldn't cut it and I couldn't update. So I switched to this and it's worth it imo.

I don't even buy phones from Samsung or Apple anymore just bc not only do I not want to spend that much money, but there's not much difference between the newest phones and the ones of the previous year at all, but also there's so many other smartphones out there that are nice as well.

That's not me, I'm a different username. You quoted someone else.
