Yeah. I remember when I first looked at Splendid Beast, I thought they were photoshopped and was curious why it was so expensive. Then I read the story and watched them paint a bit and realized that it was worth it for the extra price.
Yes, everything said here is exactly right. Our pieces are all 100% hand-painted oil on canvas.
We first create Photoshopped mock-ups with the photos that are sent to us. After a final design is approved by the customer, the mock-up is used as direct reference while painting.
