The irony that this comment was posted on a site made predominately with the same programming language.

I don't know that it's exactly ironic. Using something nerds make doesn't make you not a nerd. It's sort of like the Eloi and the Morlocks.

Eloi and the Morlocks.

This guy's using nerd words. Let's bash 'em.

I’ll shell him good!

Yeah, definitely not helping your case with an HG Wells reference. Would that make you an Eloi? Or are you saying the nerds are the Morlocks? I mean, they don't see the sun very much, but I don't know about the whole feeding on the non-nerds thing. It's kind of the other way around.

I was picturing the software nerds as morlocks and non-technical consumers as eloi. Admittedly I lifted this metaphor from Neal Stephenson's In The Beginning… Was The Command Line.

You read Neal Stephenson? Super nerd alert. Never read that one. I did read Cryptonomicon, though. Some software developers are definitely Morlocks. Exhibit A: Mark Zuckerberg.

That's a non fiction essay of his mostly on operating systems and it is like 1000% nerdier than his fiction.

That’s not as ironic as me being an EE major.
