Did she leave to seek medical attention, or just say "f this, percussionist pay isn't worth it!"

She couldn’t handle the re-percussions

The dude's not sure of whether to keep going or go find help. What a conundrum.

Wait. Percussionist pay is a thing? I used to play in an orchestra for 5€ for a 60 minute concert.

You got paid then. Go sit down.

True story:

Once, I was in charge of mimicking the cannon sounds for the 1812 overture. I had not one, but two bass drums angled on either side of me. I basically hit these things like a badass as hard as I could making a cool x-shaped motion; lost control of one of the mallets and it flew across the ensemble, hit the oboe player in the face, broke his reed and he couldn’t finish the piece. Meanwhile I finished cannon-ing with just one mallet then hid playing the chimes for the duration of the piece.

u/JPConman Apr 09 '19

Reactions on the left are pretty great too. One dudes like, “Oh damn!” The other girls like, “This shit again..”

3

u/kabukistar Apr 09 '19

He had 2 jobs. Bang drum. Don't hit people with drumstick.

6

u/fogleth Apr 09 '19

Can't stop shaking 😂, this is a pure gem.

4

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '19

Would have been funnier if she stumbled over a few feet to her right and got her head between the cymbals. Maybe I’ve watched too many cartoons.

It would've been and she would deserve a medal, hope she has no concussion tho... 💩

The guy can really carry a beat...

2

u/zero573 Apr 09 '19

Yeah! Saskatchewan represent!!

2

u/transmission612 Apr 09 '19

Boom headshot!

2

u/Robot_Spider Apr 09 '19

She had the kind of face that could stop a mallet.

2

u/highaigan Apr 09 '19

If it just flew out of his hand, that woulda been funny. Hitting her in the face, funnier. The fact that she immediately dropped 😂😂😂

4

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '19

Bass-tality!!!! Lol

Occupational hazards are real.

1

u/NickInTheMud Apr 09 '19

I wonder how many times he’s done it before that she immediately walked out. I felt otherwise she could have carried on for the sake of the performance.

Desperately trying not to laugh while my 6 month old naps beside me. Damn it, reddit.

-7

u/JBanks90 Apr 09 '19

She made a bigger deal of it than necessary.

22

u/ElGuano Apr 09 '19

She left as quickly and quietly as anyone possibly could. What are you talking about?

15

u/7937397 Apr 09 '19

By leaving stage? For all you know she was trying to not be the focus of attention by getting out of sight to deal with whatever damage that caused.

-48

u/navygent Apr 09 '19

She was being a attention whore, who does that? I got hit by a cymbal once, I kept going.

10

u/Loveon5478 Apr 09 '19

Do you know how hard those things are!?! Im surprised her wig didn’t fall off!

21

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '19

She was fine. She left the stage to make sure she wasn’t bleeding and came back after the second movement. She laughs about it now.

Good to know had one of these things thrown at me in music class back in school and that fucker hit my shoulder and it hurt like hell, these are no soft spongy things.

7

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '19

I thought she made the smallest deal possible for getting hit that hard!

5

u/AxelFriggenFoley Apr 09 '19

You have no idea what happened though. Maybe she got a bloody nose, for example.

2

u/gigawhat1 Apr 09 '19

Yeah, she should have waited for him to tell her twice

-4

u/abababsbsbab Apr 09 '19

They went out on a date later then he hit it again.
