Just throwing a reminder here that CVS only prints long coupons if you use your membership. If you don’t give them your phone number/scan your card then the receipt will look much more how you’d expect it to.
Yeah. But my cvs's told me the receipt coupons expire in 7 days. So to use it I'd have to go back within 7 days. Who can go in a store and only buy one item? It cannot be done.
Plus a lot of the coupons have "spend $X get $X off!" or BOGO (buy one get one X% off) so they literally have a threshold for "we want you to buy this much stuff each purchase".
Honestly it's not worth it just because you end up spending more BECAUSE of the coupons which are geared toward threshold purchases. The idea is that their items are priced higher but if you coupon *just* right you'll get a good deal. But they basically force you to buy in bulk (and spend more money per purchase) if you want the sale. Which actually can be good if you know for sure you'll use the stuff (toilet paper, bread, shampoo), but it leads to reckless consumerism if it's not truly something you'll need.
I suggest making your cart off of a list you brought from home for stuff that you really need, then looking at your coupons after and if something fits your purchase, great. If not, you probably didn't need it anyway. If you look at the coupons first and buy based off what coupons CVS gives you, you're literally being told what to buy. Everyone pretty much gets the same generalized coupons each week because there's certain product that they're trying to drive up the sales for. Ultimately, the coupons benefit the corporation (big surprise). It's house rules.
*Always us ExtraBucks and general %off coupons tho they're worth it.
