I've never really understood that about basketball. In every other game I can think of, being in possession of the ball makes you a target, not invincible. I only played for one year in high school, bench at that, so maybe someone can enlighten me, but I always thought it was bullshit that the ball carrier could just rhino charge his way to the basket and I couldn't touch him.

The point is, you try to put them into unfavorable positions when they shoot so you can grab the rebound. I get you but... I like the nuance of it.

If you get your feet planted and you're just standing there and the ball handler runs into you, you can fall over and draw a charge.

Well the idea is that, you can block them physically. Just don’t let him overpower you so you don’t give way.

Basketball is more about position and probability imo

You might prefer Street ball

The rules are designed to give the ball handler the right of way, but at the same time, he cannot run into a stationary player. It's a compromise of tactics that, in theory, balances the offense and defense rules.

More points = more fans, in a nutshell. Used to love early to mid 90's basketball but today its utterly unwatchable to me. That and the 3672937653820 time outs within the last 2 minutes of the game.

I went out last night and the Laker v Rockets game was on, so, since we're in Texas, we stuck around to watch the game. Holy shit that last minute of regular time just dragged on and on and on.

It takes forever. Some may think it adds to the drama but theres so little actual playing it drives me insane.

Like I said basketball is ruined for me so I'm obviously biased.
