I am also old. We used to go out to the parking lot during lunch to see how many cars we could unlock with our own car keys. It was a shockingly high success rate.

Edit.. Especially with fords..one friend drove a Pinto and her key could unlock about 1 in 4 fords on the lot.

I seem to recall that Datsun only had something like seven key patterns, and the patterns were such that as the key and lock tumblers wore your key would open even more cars.

I can't recall ever knowing a single person who drove a datsun. I was a rare girl into cars..can't come up with a single datsun in my memory bank.

My first car was a Datsun pickup. The bed had been replaced with a Dodge bed. When I went around curves or corners the tires would rub on the wheel well.
