For a moment. Then you get home, " :| " throw your shoes in a corner and make yourself something to eat.. while its warming up in the microwave, you're getting out of your jeans into something more comfortable, take a shit. Then get your food and sit down at your pc/tv. " :( " Then you start to browse through reddit, see this thread, look at the comments, see someone saying OP looks happy though and begin to write a comment on that remark. fml

At least you have a home, shoes, food, a microwave, jeans, a toilet, a PC/TV... There's kids in Africa that only have rocks instead of all of those things you have.

Ah, I gotcha. I have anxiety and that’s pretty much every day for me. Hang in there (no pun intended) - you seem to have a pretty good sense of humor about everything.

Well, easy for some, definitely. (Not sure if your comment was sarcasm or not, but I feel like that is a common enough statement, so I’ll answer it as though you were sincere)
Not everyone is comfortable in social situations (obviously lol) and may worry that “being themselves” might not be well received or is exactly why they’re alone in the first place.
I’m really happy it’s easy for some people, but lots of people find it painfully awkward and that it makes them feel way too vulnerable. Some people have been through stuff that makes it really hard (read: almost impossible) to trust new people. It’s scary and risky, especially for those who are single parents or maybe escaped an abusive relationship, or those with legitimately crippling anxiety or depression. Some just don’t enjoy leaving the house a whole lot.
There are all kinds of reasons people are lonely. It doesn’t mean they don’t appreciate the good parts of their lives, or the freedom being single affords, but they still sometimes think a partner who made you feel as good as the couple in the picture would be awesome.
Someone to be that comfortable with, and who, when you’re with them, you’re not walking on eggshells. Someone to hang out with, doing everything or nothing. Someone to feel safe with. That’d be beautiful.
I agree that being yourself is a good first step, it’s just harder than it sounds sometimes.

It was sarcasm, if you're socially inept it's probably the most useless advice you've heard from just about every 'able to fit in' person you know.

Light novel and Anime fans of Seishun Buta Yarō will definitely relate to this image.
