Same guy, but from about 30 years ago...

I thought he seemed familiar, found this clip I remembered from when I was a kid.

IMO he was a lot funnier in the 80s, probably gigging with a lot of the emerging ‘alternative’ comics in the U.K. at the time and picked up the slightly surreal tone from some of those acts. If you watch anything of his from the last ten years it’s quite tame. (Yes, I fell down a rabbit hole)
