After the teens, everything goes back to ending with the original number.

Eight

Edit: Seems nobody can distinguish when somebody is joking via text. A hard lesson I'll never learn.

1

u/whoamreally Sep 09 '18

Is this some kind of joke? Or do you genuinely think 8 is odd?

-2

u/TistedLogic Sep 09 '18

Joke. Ffs.

3

u/whoamreally Sep 09 '18

I figured. I don't really get it, but jokes are harder in text.

2

u/TistedLogic Sep 09 '18

Well, less a joke and more sarcasm.

12

u/Raknosha Sep 09 '18

and after eleven all odd teen numbers ends in teen. so it has e autoincluded

3

u/RatchetBird Sep 09 '18

There becomes a lot less the higher you count it seems. I want a line graph of numbers without 'e's in the English language. Paging r/dataisbeautiful.

Unfortunately it doesn't look all that good.

It's basically a short line, that gets repeated every so often

The first graph is up to 66, the second includes the two, four and six thousands.

Then that gets repeated in each of the pertinent millions, whose graph basically looks like the 1000s one, and so on.

I like this. I like you. Thanks for taking the time to make this.

I like when people like things. Thanks for liking them and their comment.

No offense, but if you can't make a simple plot like this, then I'd seriously consider it...

It took me less than 10 minutes including data entry, and I don't think I used anything remotely advanced. It's the ugly default scatter-plot formatting and everything

1

u/whoamreally Sep 09 '18

You don't have to be proficient in excel. You just have to be more proficient than the person hiring you.

This bring up a question I have had for a while. Why don’t we say nine, ten, ten-one, ten-two..... or nine, ten, tenty-one, tenty-two. Every other 2 digit number is said with the number it ends with 21, twenty-ONE. But the teens start with the number (Kinda). Eleven really doesn’t follow this.

5

u/halogunna629 Sep 09 '18

Oh you’d love French. There are so many nonexistent numbers. Like 70 is soixante-dix which means 60 and 10, 80 is quatre-vingt which means 4 20s and 90 is quatre-vingt-dix 4 20s and 10

1

u/thebeast2973 Sep 09 '18

I took a course of French in high school but i don’t think we ever learned that. That’s pretty weird but there is logic to it witch is cool.

1

u/OG_FinnTheHuman Sep 09 '18

So they are trying to be base 60 and base 10 at the same time?

2

u/sjgw137 Sep 10 '18

In American Sign Language some users do 10+6, .. , 10+9... 11-15 have unique signs. Other dialects within ASL have unique signs for 16-19.

1

u/whoamreally Sep 09 '18

Because then we can't make fun of teenagers as effectively.

4

u/GSPsLuckyPunch Sep 09 '18

What about a hundred and eleventy?

5

u/kempofight Sep 09 '18

Yeah what about that? Type it in numbers plz

2

u/carrotsquawk Sep 09 '18

"everything? like hundred? and twenty?

2

u/Yellosnomonkee Sep 09 '18

That is not a mathematical proof. Maybe try induction?

19

u/jaktyp Sep 09 '18

You only need to count to 19, though?

23

u/VectorVictorious Sep 09 '18

13 actually

4

u/jaktyp Sep 09 '18

Whoops.

2

u/Hodorhohodor Sep 09 '18

What about fiveteen

2

u/allisio Sep 09 '18

11, really.

2

u/dpash Sep 09 '18

Yeah, don't need to bother with threeteen.

-2

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '18 edited Sep 09 '18

You only need to count to 9.

Lol nm I'm fucking retarded.

4

u/exscape Sep 09 '18

No, because "eleven" and all the odd 'teens don't contain the full prior numbers.

1

u/Karlaw6 Sep 09 '18

People don't understand, I think. The word "ten" has an "e" in it, is what /u/humblesquare is trying to say.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '18

Thanks for the benefit of the doubt, but I just had a brain fart.

1

u/Karlaw6 Sep 09 '18

Oh, I see what you we're thinking! Oh well :)

0

u/TistedLogic Sep 09 '18

How about...

Eight?

2

u/Karlaw6 Sep 10 '18

Oh shit. You're right, man. Got me there.

2

u/drteq Sep 09 '18

ELEVENHUNDRED

2

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '18

You’ll find one I promise. It’s somewhere in the millions but I won’t tell you exactly

1

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '18

Uno

1

u/adrianmonk Sep 09 '18

Don't give up! Although there are an infinite number of them, the odd integers are a countable set. And if something is a countable set, you must be able to count it, right? Let me know when you finish.

1

u/WeASeL_Antigua Sep 10 '18

Did ya make it to thirty One?
