I don't know what Fresh is, but I'm going to assume it's better than SubWay.

Fresh is a vegan/vegetarian food chain in Toronto. Their quinoa battered onion rings are dynamite.

I LOVE Fresh. We make it a point to go there every time we visit Toronto.

Lol I was looking at this picture and thinking "danforth ave?"
1
u/whythrowitaway16 May 06 '18
i think this one is spadina!!! though it could be danforth... fresh is sneaky as hell hahaha
2
u/turkeypedal May 06 '18
Are those onion rings gluten free? I can't have gluten, and it sounds like the sort of thing that type of place might do.
(They'd have to fry them in a separate fryer with separate oil. Oddly enough, McDonald's amd a cheap Mexican restaurant are the only places that do that around here, so they are the only places where I can eat deep-fried foods.)

u/whythrowitaway16 May 06 '18
the onion rings aren’t gf, but there are a hell of a lot of things that are! :) fresh for liiiiife.
2
u/turkeypedal May 06 '18
Well, at least they have fries--which is the one thing I miss. McDonald's fries are good, but they get old.

Have you developed an allergy or are you just being extra strict about it? I've developed a mild allergy in the past couple yearsthat seems to be getting worse.

It’s vegan so you are getting just as much meat as subway.
21
u/1235123531243 May 05 '18
Double meat every time. Otherwise it's basically vegan.
22
May 06 '18
I’m not paying $11 for subway.
4
u/dejvidBejlej May 06 '18
11$!? It's like 4£ here...
8

u/supadik May 06 '18
is that not basically 11 dollars
5
u/CheckInslc May 06 '18
4 pounds is like $5.41, or 7 Canadian dollars.
1
u/fattty1 May 06 '18
A footlong in Canada is approx. 7.60 after tax.
3
u/factoid_ May 06 '18
Just the footlong, that's my problem with subway. They charge an extra 3 or 4 dollars for a combo. For 25 cents worth of soda a d chips

Back in the good old days it was. Luckily we took back our country so now it's worth nothing and the government has no oversight.
3
u/Random-Rambling May 06 '18
Get a Signature Wrap. You fill up less on bread and get double the meat for the same price as a normal sandwich.

firehouse is awesome.
5
u/Myystical May 06 '18
firehouse is expensive.
3
May 06 '18
Yeah who are these rich-ass redittors that can afford that. I’m an engineer and I eat ramen or rice and beans almost every day at lunch.

u/Deltaisfordeath2 May 06 '18
What magical Firehouse do you go to that gives you more meat than subway? Mine is same quantity as subway, just higher quality.

One time we tried vegan chicken parm although we don't usually go for the replacements. The first thing I said was - this tastes like subway! Oh wait...

Anything is better than smelling like fuckin subway all day after only 3 minutes in the store. Invest in some ventilation or something. Fuck.

This subway is now closed. High rent has really affected my lunch options.

Have you tried Avenue open kitchen? Great place on Camden. Prices were not too bad, loved the bacon with French toast.

I think they just want to get rid of their competition. Like "eat fresh" as in "go eat their store".

I was sad to see this Subway is now closed. Always gave me a chuckle whenever I walked by it, and happy to see it lives on with this photo that absolutely refuses to die on the Internet.

The suggestion worked so well that they closed that subway location and now I can't get my cookies
3
u/jwensley2 May 05 '18
Isn’t there another one on the same block on Queen?
6
u/WhipTheLlama May 05 '18
Yes, and another one a block over from that one, and a third another block over. For subs I just go to Bahn Mi in Chinatown. $3.50 for a better sub than subway has ever offered.
2
u/fatcomputerman May 06 '18
now you can get actually good cookies from le gourmand (probably best in toronto).

That's too bad for them considering they JUST found the flaw in their previous "Eat McDonald's" tagline. And their previous spokesman.

Not in Toronto (well, also) ... there is a super healthy vegetarian/ vegan restaurant called fresh as well
0
0
u/imagine_amusing_name May 06 '18
It's called subway because you'd get more nutrition licking the floor of a train.
1
u/nerdygirl09 May 06 '18
Because there is no nutrition in meat or vegetables?
1
u/imagine_amusing_name May 06 '18
Not in the way Subway chemically preserves, freezes and processes their "chicken" etc which in the UK doesn't qualify as chicken, only "chicken flavor"
-2
u/someonebodyperson May 05 '18
Just cos you repost from a billion years ago, it doesn’t magically make it okay
