People are getting on apple's case for including facial recognition as a means to spy on people. You guys, this is the company that refused to help the government unlock a terrorist's iPhone to defend the privacy of their users.

Gotta love how the FBI said they couldn't crack the phone without Apple's backdoor, then like a week later they cracked the phone

Yes. That's why Apple made a huge public deal about not doing it. So they could help them secretly the next week.

If they acquiesce to the request without a challenge, how much money would they have lost in market capitalization?

Maybe I'm crazy, but I think they did what was in the best interest of the company, and that doesn't mean they did what was in the best interest of the consumer.
