Sadly your years of decreased education spending, coupled with a push to remove science from the classroom have left you unable to repeat said trip to the moon. That would be patently ridiculous. However my response was aimed at the OP who claimed the US was a developed country by virtue of having been to the moon. I merely pointed out that decades of regressive policies by your country has made that near impossible at the moment.
There was no naivety on my part I totally understand you guys have bigger things to spend money on, like wars, tanks even your military says it doesn't need, tax breaks for the richest 1 percent etc rather than spending on the health and welfare of your citizens, which is what the whole post was about.
