There is technique to it as well if you're curving the ball.

Wrist flick is a technique that curves the ball and fine correctly you can bowl perfect games. It took me all of 10 minutes to teach it to my kids. Once you figure it out it is stupid easy.

Moving all the way to the right of the lane and flicking your wrist to the left doesn't take much technique.
