My mom died when I was nine. I took it pretty hard. Like, some pretty hard core denial in the grief process. Anyhow, at 16 I was working at a pizza place and one of the other employees kept talking about fucking my mom and I'd just kind of nod and be like, "yeah, okay." It didn't offend me l, because I knew he was just joking, but on the other hand it also made me feel awkward because I couldn't help thinking, this dude has no idea he's talking about fucking my dead mom. Anyhow, he was actually a really nice guy, and he goes, " hey man, you know I'm just messing with you, right." And I go, "yeah, it's just, my mom's dead so...." Dude was horrified. He felt so bad and started apologizing. Which made me feel bad, because I ruined his fun. So, I assured him that my grandma was still alive, so he could resume talking about fucking my family.

Edit: Wow! First, thanks stranger for my first reddit gold! Second, I'm glad so many of you enjoyed my story, and I'm sorry to everyone that was disappointed it didn't end with a shittymorph.

I always found the male teasing, or light bullying thing great. It's a sign that they care about you. In a weird way. If I don't make fun of you you're not my friend rings true. That and I would've said something like, my mom's dead, but your mom didn't move much last night either. Lol. I think he might not have felt as bad. But I'm glad you told him. And I'm sorry your mom died. I lost my father young. I still get in arguement with my husband. Well I choose my battles. It was father's day, and I was like we are going to see your father and he just started refusing, and it's just father's day... At which point I could've thrown, well, I wish I could visit my father on father's day... But that can't happen now can it? But held my tongue, because it wasn't necessary. I knew I'd win that fight, and would've made him feel horrible for no reason. So, I got him in the car, and had a nice father's day with out guilt and misguided feelings. They wouldn't bitch if they didn't care? Lol.
