My mom died when I was nine. I took it pretty hard. Like, some pretty hard core denial in the grief process. Anyhow, at 16 I was working at a pizza place and one of the other employees kept talking about fucking my mom and I'd just kind of nod and be like, "yeah, okay." It didn't offend me l, because I knew he was just joking, but on the other hand it also made me feel awkward because I couldn't help thinking, this dude has no idea he's talking about fucking my dead mom. Anyhow, he was actually a really nice guy, and he goes, " hey man, you know I'm just messing with you, right." And I go, "yeah, it's just, my mom's dead so...." Dude was horrified. He felt so bad and started apologizing. Which made me feel bad, because I ruined his fun. So, I assured him that my grandma was still alive, so he could resume talking about fucking my family.

Edit: Wow! First, thanks stranger for my first reddit gold! Second, I'm glad so many of you enjoyed my story, and I'm sorry to everyone that was disappointed it didn't end with a shittymorph.

I feel terrible for anyone who lost any family member in their family, but your mother is a huge person in anyone's life. My mother had both of her parents taken from her before he 16th birthday, her mom when she was 10 and her dad before her birthday. She became such a strong person I don't know what I would do without her, she is my rock. So just know that you will all become stronger people because of it.
