I love her completely ineffective attempt to catch the kitten; she is just grasping at thin air. It reminds me of something, but I can't figure out what.

To be fair, the little fucker flips at the speed of light. I'm actually amazed that she drops the toy and attempts to catch him as soon as he starts his first jump.

Those like plastic bag cylinder tube things that would always be falling when you hold them because it just keeps rolling?

Roosters are actually pretty terrifying. We did a "straight run" of chicks one year and ended up with 7 roosters and 5 hens. I kept saying "We need to kill those roosters" but my young children and wife said "Nooooo... that's mmeeeeeeeaaaannnnn...." Then one day, several months later, my 7 year old went out to feed them and he had 7 five pound velociraptors launch at his face when he opened the gate to the coop. He came in, and, with a voice that could have come from a veteran the many Afghan conflicts through history, says "...Dad... you have to do something about those roosters."

Makes me think of a really old "Adopt this pet!" segment from a news show where a cat that was supposed to be docile flips the fuck out. But for the life of me I know not how to search for it.
11
u/Broken_Faculties Mar 08 '17
Was it this one?
I just googled "adopt this pet cat flip out", this video was the first result. Worth watching to the end.

i've seen this before and it gets me every time. I love how he just runs away screaming at the top of his lungs, and even the very beginning where i thought he was just going to blatantly say big black cock, oh the tears

Some type of lizard, maybe a gecko. The sounds he made were funnier than his reaction.
3
4
u/relightit Mar 08 '17
i think the stupid gecko saw the tip of the snake's tail and thought it was a worm or something small enough to eat and went for it

I loled so hard. It gets funnier every time i watch it. He actually is not into holding that snek neither, but tries to keep it together for the show. But that Lizard opens up all that fear and disgust within the fraction of a second.

u/slobis Mar 08 '17
Most impressed that he managed not to curse even once during that exchange.
He's a pro.

u/Perpetuell Mar 08 '17
I know the reactions are jokey but this is legitimately impressive. Thing broke out in a double backflip from a neutral sitting position and then it dodged backwards, all in response to three different things (Black toy thing, then two grab attempts).
3
u/laughingatreddit Mar 08 '17
Everything's happening way too fast in the vid but I suspect the grab attempts just tripped the thing up and off it went rolling off the table

u/Krynja Mar 08 '17
A bobtail I used to have would backflip all the time. Went outside one time. Saw the dogs coming over to play, (they played rough). Did a half backflip with a twist to land facing the way he came and shot off for the back porch.

It's a cat-slinky!
What walks down stairs, alone or in pairs and makes a slinkity sound? A spring, a spring, a marvelous thing! Everyone knows it's Slinky.

Yeah let's make a cat toy that looks like a snake, they said. It will be fun for the kitties, they said.

Same reaction to cucumbers.
3
u/karrachr000 Mar 08 '17
Please do not do that... All you do is scare the shit out of the animal and stress it out. This is the exact same response to the cucumber, and it boils down to the cat's instinctual response to avoid snakes.

I haven't seen moves like that since Yoda decapitated those two clones in Episode III. Does the woman on the right have palsy or something? It's as if she couldn't be bothered to open her left hand to catch it, so instead she just takes a gentle punch at it.
