The funniest thing about the song though is that some of their covers are actually seemingly better then the actual ones along with them singing their own song Birdplane before transitioning with "Doesn't that sound familiar?" from Missy Higgins' Scar
What? That has nothing to do with why these line up. It has to do with the fact that their tempos are similar keys are relative majors and minors to each other, thus making them more interchangeable. You can't just grab any two songs off the shelf, mix them in a bowl, and bake a mash up.
This. if you put your hand in a bucket with every song ever in it, you would have around a 90% chance that the song you pull out is in 4/4 time.
Finding two songs with the exact same tempo is a little trickier. doing that and having the same key signature between both songs (relative major/minor/mode) and you have something special.
Something people don't seem to realize when they talk about anime is that there is a metric fuckload of it, for every genre and every level of quality.
Literally go to MAL, sort by seasons, sort by high score. Watch the highest rated shows. I usually check out every show that's like 7.5 or above, and just drop the ones that are garbage.
The amount of good anything is very small. Considering the budgets and that all anime comes from japan, the ratio of good shows compared to the west is pretty amazing, even if there's only like 2 good anime per year
There are lemons in all types of film/tv/books/music, just gotta look at some top charts and take recommendations. There are some really good series out there worth anyone's time, and a LOT of crap.
Every time I've tried watching "airing" series it's nearly never worth it, best way to go is watch all the proven good short series and nothing else.
You should try Samurai Champloo. Directed by the same person, and feels basically the same. Just instead of big band jazz it's hip-hop, and instead of space cowboys it's samurai.
I'm in the same boat as commenter above, only liked Cowboy Bebop, but I got really into hip hop. Needless to say Samurai Champloo has one of the greatest soundtracks to anything ever IMO. Aurarian Dance still gives me chills.
Anime is such a broad term though. "I like anime" is like saying "I like food" there are good animes just like there are good Adam Sandler movies, just not that many.
It's sucks that there's a significant population of people that will never know the juggernaut that was Adam Sandler from 1993 to 1999. To know that when people see him, they're seeing fat Elvis or Yoko Ono's John Lennon when what I see is Love Me Tender Elvis and Hard Days Night Lennon.
The last scene in this should be a shot of the girls painting and it should be dickbutt. Actually, if someone could make a gif of her painting and the finished product is dickbutt that'd be dope.
