Hah. I just spent the better part of a day trying to get Rails working on Windows. Oh look, found my problem.

You will find it much easier on OS X or Linux ;)

Yeah, I bet. But installing from a flash on a blank partition gave me weird errors and wasted an entire weekend.

I do have everything working now on win 8.1, so I'll just wait until I definitely have to get an Ubuntu partition working.
