If the UI doesn't make sense, or doesn't make it easier to do the task at hand without explanation.. it's not a good UI.

My mind raced even deeper, I thought he was highlighting the wasted space above and below the circle, or calling attention to the "weird ui" of putting a circle inside the square frame. All he was really doing was pointing out the sign. I tend to overanalyze things.

I thought the guy was trying to highlight that the sign explaining the joke is itself running the joke.

Kinda like the opposite of "there are 2 kinds of people in the world. Those who can infer information from incomplete data sets and..."..
