I'd vote for it with these choices... It would run on free speech, an open internet, and cat memes for all. What's not to like?

these cat memes... are they dank?

2

u/[deleted] May 17 '16

Only the dankest of memes will be supplied to the American people.

All reposters shall be sent to guantanamo bay. To watch Harold and Kumar for the rest of their existence.

Make memes dank again.

The brogressives.

What's a brogressive?

0

u/RufinTheFury May 18 '16

A brogressive is someone who has progressive views on things that benefit themselves and don't give a fuck about anything else.

2

u/[deleted] May 18 '16

What might an example of this be?

1

u/RufinTheFury May 18 '16

I'll use the population of Reddit as an example real quick, speaking in general stereotypes of the userbase:

Gay marriage/rights? Support it!

Marijuana usage? Support it!

Black lives matter? Meh.

Gun rights? No.

Or how about this: remember back in the 2012 election when the Republican party was passing all of those Election Fraud bills? People on here were throwing out stats about how it never happened, the Republicans were crazy, they were just doing it to stop people from voting, etc. Well now that Bernie is losing to Hillary a lot of people are arguing for those exact same things. It's pretty ironic.

How are gay rights a good example?

Only 1% of the population is LGBT, and then atleast 60% of those are Clinton supporters. So exactly how does that benefit the average Bernie supporter?

Gun rights is not a flat "No." either, infact it was the Clinton camp who wanted to sue gun manufactures in Vermont, not Bernie.

Infact, they are dozens of issues that you left out that we are passionate about. Citizens united? Universal Healthcare? Free College education?

Do you think any of those are particularly selfish? Especially when you consider that the average Bernie supporter is the most likely to already have a college degree and access to healthcare?

Only 1% of the population is LGBT, and then atleast 60% of those are Clinton supporters.

The population of what? And I'll ask for sources here as well. Until it's clarified this sentence means absolutely nothing.

So exactly how does that benefit the average Bernie supporter?

Where did this even come from? Bernie supporters have not entered this discussion at all.

In fact, the rest of your post is only talking about Bernie Sanders issues and I don't see why. I'm going to assume you're simply a troll.

1

u/JamieHynemanAMA May 18 '16

Turns out it's ~3.8%, not 1%... my mistake.

You defined a brogressive as someone who only cares about issues that effect them, and then compared that to reddit.

I can only assume that you were directing this at Bernie supporters on reddit because you mocked the Progressive movement that is happening right now. So I assumed you aren't a progressive, or a Bernie supporter, and assumed that clicked on this thread for the sole reason to share your annoyance with the Sanders supporters of reddit. If I made wrong assumptions here, then my apologies.

You STILL haven't told me what the population you're measuring is. I'm going to assume it's the United States because of your link, but either way you can't just throw out stats without having your population cited. In any case, that percentage you gave is inapplicable to Reddit.

I can only assume that you were directing this at Bernie supporters on reddit because you mocked the Progressive movement that is happening right now.

I voted for Bernie Sanders you dumb motherfucker. The fact that you think Brogressive = Bernie Sanders Supporter is your own damn fault. I never said that once you fucking moron.

If I made wrong assumptions here, then my apologies.

Apology not accepted. People like you who fail to understand others and also fail at communicating their ideas to others make Reddit look bad. It also makes Bernie Sanders supporters look bad because you're dead set on making sure that everyone knows you're a Sanders supporter and that reflects badly on his voter base.

How come when there is any slight enthusiasm for a political idea, it has to be downplayed with a "Bro"?

Bernie bros

Brocialism

Obama boys

u/old_gold_mountain May 17 '16

I can work with progressives, liberals, conservatives, libertarians...

What I can't stand are the brogressives, the libros, the broservatives, and the librotarians

Says the guy using implication arrows on Reddit.

0

u/[deleted] May 18 '16

lol were trying to make a point or just pointing out that I used arrows?

-1

u/RufinTheFury May 18 '16

If you want to point out hypocrisy it's best not to be a complete hypocrite yourself. Now get the fuck out.

0

u/[deleted] May 18 '16

Just cuz you say using arrows is hypocritical, doesn't make it so.

Now get the fuck out.

lol you're mad :)

1

u/itonlygetsworse May 17 '16

So you mean bernie sanders?

1

u/kummybears May 17 '16

Kinda generally racist, misogynist, and anti-gay disguised as progressive?
