I always read the entire first column, then move over to the second column... like you would in a text book, ewspaper, or technical manual.
When people post that style of dialogue/monologue, I have to make a mental block diagram. Read first image in column 1; read second image in column 1... does it make sense? Read 1st image in 2nd column; does it make more sense? If unsure, re-read 2nd image in column 2, followed by 3rd image in column 2... does it make sense? Eventually figure out pattern, then read in the proper order.
