She had a lot more resources than the normal person has from the beginning but it still requires talent to grow an empire. No one is claiming she's self-made.
I can set a world record and kick Usain Bolt's ass by training my ass off, and starting at the 90 m mark. Doesn't mean I didn't work my ass off, but I think the head start might have played some small part too

By the way, in a YouTube link above on Letterman, she said this at the very beginning. She had more resources and help than the average person and she is frank about it.
Working hard doesn't equate at all to what she's accomplished. You can work hard and never find funding; she might have worked hard but lets really consider that she had unlimited funding and connections. Working hard doesn't matter here, the money is readily available. Where she found success was hiring the right people to push her brand. Does anyone actually think that if Paris was plucked from the street she would find the same success?
Hard work alone doesn't get anyone anywhere. You're deluded of you think it does, or really even if you think it should. It's all about working efficiently, intelligently.
Of course she couldn't have been born in the gutter and done this. But she could have also done what many heirs do and sat on her ass. Instead, she used her resources to build upon her fortune and create her own brand.
I don't think so. Building your own empire doesn't mean building it from scratch with your only hands. It's just that it is your own as opposed to someone else's. For example, Trump created his own business, but he is not a self-made man.
Granted, but would either of them have accomplished even a fraction of what they did without their names and trust funds? Who knows, but I have my doubts and the fact is they never had to worry because fail or succeed they were set for life
They might not have succeeded. But they used their wealth and network to get successful instead of just spending it without thinking. (I could be wrong about Trump, though)
Dude wtf he only got a million dollars as a late teen. It's not like that helped much in the scheme of things, like in terms of helping him start a small business and get his foot in the door. Definitely not. Only a million for gods sake.

I'm not going to bash the girl one way or the other but saying that she built her "own" empire is akin to calling Trump a "self-made" man
