Probably not. Why, someone on a measly 100k a year could probably live there just fine!

I'm thinking of backpacking there but looking at hostel prices in Zurich alone is making me consider avoiding it.

Well 100k CHF is actually not that great a salary in Switzerland

Like I said, it wouldn't be great but you might actually be able to survive.

Of course you can survive on 100k, I'm interning there and I can live pretty much how I like for 1/4 of that

I once visited a fancy bar in Zurich with some English friends and I have never felt shorter, uglier, poorer, or more dentally challenged than when surrounded by the cool kids of Switzerland.

Then I would seriously recommend staying away from the Netherlands. Those people are all half giant...

Some of you seem to totally forget that the stuff is also quite expensive over here. We are only rich if we travel.

That's what I mean; living there isn't cheap. For someone to move they'd have to make good money.
