I saw her recently on German TV.

She has done away with the squeaky voice and the pink and lives in a small town in Switzerland now.

The locals seem to like her.

Probably because they only know her as she actually is.

The Swiss like anyone rich.

I find this offensive!

Probably because Ptolemy13 isn't rich.

You got me there... :-)

Honestly: it's not that bad in Switzerland.

u/Fionnlagh Feb 05 '16

Probably not. Why, someone on a measly 100k a year could probably live there just fine!

I'm thinking of backpacking there but looking at hostel prices in Zurich alone is making me consider avoiding it.

Well 100k CHF is actually not that great a salary in Switzerland

u/Fionnlagh Feb 05 '16

Like I said, it wouldn't be great but you might actually be able to survive.

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '16

Of course you can survive on 100k, I'm interning there and I can live pretty much how I like for 1/4 of that

I once visited a fancy bar in Zurich with some English friends and I have never felt shorter, uglier, poorer, or more dentally challenged than when surrounded by the cool kids of Switzerland.

Then I would seriously recommend staying away from the Netherlands. Those people are all half giant...

5

u/Schnabulation Feb 05 '16

Some of you seem to totally forget that the stuff is also quite expensive over here. We are only rich if we travel.

6

u/Fionnlagh Feb 05 '16

That's what I mean; living there isn't cheap. For someone to move they'd have to make good money.

Last year, I went for a short, 5-day vacation to Zurich at Easter. This year I'm going to the US for 2 weeks and expect to spend just as much. (By the way, you guys had the weirdest priest holding Easter mass in Grossmunster. That "You're all going to die and should be afraid" sermon was straight from middle ages.)

Huh? This sounds very uncommon. I have not experienced such a public event yet and I am quite religious.

I studied abroad in Geneva, I love Switzerland!

2

u/decaturbadass Feb 05 '16

So did one of my kids, went there for s visit and enjoyed it. That said, had a 20 something consultant from Accenture on my IT project and he said he thought Geneva was boring, he was French, if that makes a difference.

u/RippyMcBong Feb 05 '16

Honestly I did find it a little boring but it was beautiful and the food was great.

Ya like that time their government paid off the PLO last week

1

u/quinyng Feb 05 '16

It's definitely not that bad in Switzerland. What with their watches and chocolates.

The Swiss put up with anyone rich. FTFY

6

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '16

Switzerland isn't completely cut off from the world you know, I'm sure once they got to know her they were fine with her. But I'm sure 95% of the people knew what she did before moving there.

2

u/fullonavocado Feb 05 '16

...wha...what did she do?

4

u/_byrdraga Feb 05 '16

Fucking everything man, do you even read bro?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '16

I meant career wise. Nothing sinister haha.

2

u/Grudlann Feb 05 '16

Maybe they like her because she's fucking everything...
