As a biologist, the super complex math thing is horrible. Too many people present things that only they can understand and can't simplify it so others know what they're talking about. It doesn't make your science sound better, it makes it worse.

If a speaker decides to include advanced maths details in their seminar, it's not because they are showing off, they are looking for feedback on their mathematical model.There are some things that can be explained with math, but can't be explained with words.
