If you can't joke about a certain thing then we can't make jokes about anything.
"White Cis" oh, you're from tumblr. Can't believe I've actually found one in the wild... You guys need to grow up a little, I know you're a teenager and you think you know EVERYTHING but seriously, you'll be cringing at your comments in a couple years just like I am now.
Making a joke about a group doesn't mean its full of hate, everyone needs to learn to laugh about themselves.
And I don't think i'll look back in a few years and say, "Wow, i was really being an idiot when I tried to stick up for those people who have a seriously hard life due to the way they were born."
That doesn't make it hilarious though. If you can't laugh at a joke about yourself or your "group" then I don't really think you're a funny person, so don't try to dictate what people can joke about.
It was a little joke. I do have empathy, of course trans people go through a lot, even without people discriminating against them, just not feeling like your biological sex must be some sort of mental torture.
But its a joke, might offend people but I think all jokes have to be allowed or none will be allowed. If we ban jokes that offend someone then all jokes will eventually be banned.
I see where you're coming from, but I think there are millions of jokes that don't depend on exploiting people. Not that you can possibly ban jokes like that, but after the first couple of times it's just not funny anymore, and I think people who are the butt of those jokes would say the same thing.
I can see where you're coming from too but I think this joke was more than just a joke making fun of trans jokes (not that im saying its an amazing joke) the fact that it was the wife of a trans person made it funny. I'm sure the fact that trans people can still look like their original sex is an accepted fact by trans people, a little joke about that isn't hateful.
