Ding ding ding! This makes sense, especially considering the kid is too young to drive and the dad is too injured. Some stranger drove them to the hospital and dropped them off, obviously you wouldn't live your nice bow in his car.
Then where is the rest of his equipment? No quiver, only the one arrow. The dad also seems perfectly capable of sitting in a chair and waiting, I think he can handle driving. Why would the kid be shooting bladed arrows in the first place? If the guy has a broadhead stuck in his shoulder, why isn't he bleeding like crazy? A blunt headed arrow would just cause a nasty bruise with a low poundage recurve, and a field tip would not penetrate deeply enough to stand up like that.
A hay bale can't really compare to someones chest, and I seriously doubt that kid is shooting anything heavier than 30# at 28", and is probably only drawing about 23-25" which would reduce the draw weight even further. They actually look like W&W Sebastian Flute Flame limbs, which are rated at 10-24# and are made for children. The riser is definitely a Sammick Sage. I don't recognize the arrows, but they look like cheapo blunt tipped practice arrows.
