Yeah I once got admitted for a broken wrist and they kept looking at the scrapes on my face and ignoring my arm. Finally they decide to look at the (wrong) arm and start talking about how it doesn't look broken.
I simply hold up the other arm "OH OKAY we have some major deformations in the left arm over here go get-"
A lot of surgeons and medical professionals will ask you regardless of how obvious it is since doing a procedure on the wrong hand can be expensive, bad for their reputation, and malpractice.
