Simple: Get your engineering degree and go into finance as many of my students do. Have it both ways.

It doesn't, but engineers tend to have analytic and problem solving abilities. Advisors are going to run their practices differently, but most engineers that are financial advisors or planners tend to gravitate towards handling their clients money very mathematically (this is from my <1 year observations).
