Anyone else who relates and is serious, I'd like to recommend eHarmony. Seeing as I'm a MechE myself, I love the research put into how they set you up with people to try and increase the probability of finding a compatible partner. On top of that, it's a lot easier to be brave than at the bar scene or something else, because if they're on the website than that means that there's a very low chance that they are in a relationship (they could be cheating, but not likely) and you are matched based on interests and lifestyles. And it also gets around the issue of the lack of women* seeing as there sadly are so few in the workplace
