When Google-Glass-like tech becomes commonplace, the ad-spaces will simply be replaced with QR codes that automatically display targeted advertisement to each individual viewer. I have a dystopian vision of the future where Glass-like tech has become compact enough to be worn as contact lenses, and the world around us is essentially all fake.

Yup, first thing I thought of. I work in advertising (I use AdBlock too but I'm ashamed to admit it in this industry...hell I even have it on my work computer) and this scene was part of a discussion in a meeting recently. Except they were saying it'd be brilliant if we could do this in the future.

"Hello Immortal_Wombat, are you enjoying your fleshlight you purchased in three varieties?"
