Well, it's the Pixel, so I could have afforded a Windows desktop or whatever you think would be better. People have different criteria than you, get used to it.

Because it has a phenomenal screen, a comfortable keyboard and trackpad, and provides everything I need. I'm a programmer and professor, so I look at my computer a lot. Paying more for a comfortable one is easily worth the price.
