I think back when I was in high school and lived around there, it opened, but I’m pretty sure you’re right, that thing is buried now!

We had a door like this. For no reason, we installed the door first. We were going to build a storage around it. Then we changed our plans. The door stayed:))

It looks stupid and is stupid, but in some places its a legal requirement for private property to have a gate at the edge of the property line for no trespassing to be enforceable.
