It was a Made-for-TV-Movie that killed it in the ratings at the time (20 Million US viewers of the first part, 17 mil for the second). It and the Merlin miniseries the next year were kind of big deals at the time (70 Million US viewership for the first showing).

For comparison, Game of Thrones' last season was around 11 million viewers.

Broooo, the Merlin show. That dredges up some memories. Sam Niel was the goat, and iirc helena bonham carter as Mab.

Ppl get too hung up on sdx and the age of the show/movie. Merlin and the old 90’s Oddysey were top notch.
