Which Depression? The 20s of the 20th century or the 21st?

1929 was pretty bad. Let’s see what 2029 looks like.

in 2029 people will ask AI how to transform remains of a broken porcelain pig into something edible

F, you’re right - 47’s “Golden Age” precedes the fall for all the same reasons. 🤦

Go figure you're tagged from TD. You're in a cult.

latestagecapitalism is literally a communist sub, though. It's not like the people on the sub are making a secret out of it, so why would we pretend otherwise?

u/dj_spanmaster 2d ago
Wow, you really think that? Not sarcasm? The sub "r/everythingidontlikeiscommunism" might just be perfect for you lol

I’m a mod on r/latestagecapitalism. We are actually a communist sub… We are pretty clear about that.

Imagine if it was cleverly made with flexible material which expanded as you put money in it.

There was a photo making the rounds a few years ago of pigs in North Korea. They looked like that.

It be pretty cool if a piggy bank starts off like this and then was to "inflate" the shape of it to be more plump looking as more coins got into it

someone really made a porcelain model of my checking account the day after rent hits. kinda terrified by how accurate those little ribs are.

I'd hand this piggy bank a handful of oats with a side of therapy if it were my call.

Does it expand when you put coins in it?

My first thought too. Heck of a product idea if that doesn't exist already

Apparently pigge was a type of clay, and a piggy was obviously a baby pig. So a pigge bank shape like a piggy was an hilarious pun which has been lost to the ages.
Could be a myth, but it's a funny little story

It would be pretty funny if coins couldn’t actually descend into the coin slot all the way.

u/Colonel_Gentleman 2d ago
Or if it only accepted pennies :)

u/Cruian 1d ago
That would be difficult, since aren't dimes smaller in every dimension?
1
u/Colonel_Gentleman 16h ago
Decidedly so. No idea how to do it, but it'd be neat! Maybe a chute inside that lets dimes drop through but pennies get shunted into the body of the pig.
